It wasn't perfect, but the location was superb. The decor was lovely. We thought it was affordable too.

Very nice hotel, great location, friendly staff, nice roof terrace, Aircon, good breakfast , even a cat...
You don't get a lot for your money in Venice, whilst this is not a 5star hotel, it delivers 5 stars for the value based on what they offer and how well it's run and it's location 2 minutes from st marks square. I would also mention, bear in mind there is no lift, which may be a problem for some folk.
It lost a star as the bed was quite uncomfortable, they should consider replacing them.

Rooms seriously need updating, shower is cracked but repaired, outlets do not fit any modern adapters as it uses a more narrow plug, could be a lot cleaner, those carpets and matching bed/box cover hasn't been changed since the 80's

The good: Very clean. Although the decor is very traditional, the bathroom had modern fixtures and tiling. The bad: The bed was incredibly uncomfortable...the two twin beds that were pushed together to make a queen (which I realize is common in Italy) kept coming apart too easily, and the mattress springs were very flat and worn out. (Note to the hotel staff: Please replace the mattresses in room 116.) Also, there was a small step down path leading to the bathroom, making the bathroom very uncomfortable getting in and out of. And the bathroom ceiling was very low, so anyone taller than 6 feet may be forced to duck down while showering, etc.
