This place was absolutely fantastic - we had a great time staying here for a couple of nights, to celebrate our honeymoon.
The customer service was superb, from the moment we entered the property. Someone was waiting to meet us at our car, carried our bags up to our room, and parked the car for us. The moment we entered in to the hotel, we were given a welcome drink (locally made almond milk) and invited to make ourselves comfortable in the lobby, before checking in. During our stay, if we wanted anything, the staff were always present, friendly, and happy to share useful advice.
A great deal of work has evidently gone in to restoring this magnificent, historical building and estate, which was originally a convent, and then a residence for Maltese knights. Additions inspired by ancient Arabic architectural techniques add to a glorious aesthetic.
We enjoyed the 8-course taster menu in the restaurant on our last night. Everything was delicious and immaculately presented. A highlight was the Nero D'Avola (red wine), and the black pig, both of which were grown/reared and produced on site.
In fact, on the morning that we departed, we took a journey around the hotel's airstrip (yes, it has its own airstrip), and visited the small holding that houses the black pigs, and where the ricotta cheese is made.
In terms of location, the magnificent city of Ragusa Ibla is only 20 minutes away by car, and Ragusa Marina beach around 15 minutes. Being out on in the countryside, there is an absence of light pollution, so gazing at the stars is recommended.
Fantastic and filling breakfast, including meat and cheese produced on site, fresh fruit, croissants, cereal, tea and coffee.
Highly recommend this hotel for a romantic get away, and (expensive) treat.

A warm welcome upon arrival which continued throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who create a calmness and sense of peace. The chef specially cooked a vegetarian option which was gratefully received and enjoyed. Breakfast is outstanding having been grown, baked, reared or laid, crockery cutlery is just gorgeous.... Attention to detail was excellent in everything you look at. The hotel has tasteful and beautiful decor sympathetic to it's age. The gardens are tranquil and peaceful. It is simply fabulous and we are sad we could not have stayed longer. One day we will visit again

Excellent breakfast with home grown, fresh produce and plenty of variety. The sun-dried tomatoes and the freshly squeezed juice are particular favourites. Try the ricotta with honey on toast -- end of the world!
Staff are awesome and super accommodating. They gave us very detailed itineraries for all of our day trips, going into a lot of detail.
Relaxing, idyllic atmosphere throughout, especially in the courtyard and private pool area, where we had one of the best pasta we ever ate.
Cottage was spacious and clean with ample parking and bikes which we used to cycle to the hotel (slightly old and rusty, but can be forgiven!)
Amazing throughout, can't recommend this place enough.
