The guy at the office wasn't particularly polite, but he did his job very efficiently and gave me a much better car than I had booked and paid for (the car was fairly new with many fancy features). I had chosen this rental company, because it also allows to return the car at the airport, at a penalty smaller than the taxi fare.
The only thing I can complain about are the opening times - the office takes a 2h lunch break, which meant that I had to pick up and thus return the car a bit too early for my departure flight (as I didn't want to pay a full day for just 1.5 h rental time).

MAFIA ROBBERY !! DO NOT TAKE A CAR FROM THEM !
They are so incompetent, they gave us a car - after 2 days it had a breakdown at the HIGHWAY ! The gas just stopped working for no reason, we called the 24 hour number from them to send us somebody to pick up the car, first I told her like 10 times the name of the highway we are and around which town, she wouldn'tt get it so I sent her in WhatsApp, after 2 hours somebody who doesn't speak a word in English would pick us up and let us randomly out anywhere, we had no idea of nothing. not the name of the dove nor the company that was driving our car away. We had to PAY the taxi to get to the airport fully OURSELVES just so they can tell us they cannot give us another car because they don't know where it is and they were shouting at me that I am still responsible for the car and maybe now its somewhere and they could never find it again. This lady was just funny in my eyes, 0 knowledge of nothing but shouting at costumers and destroying their holiday. After all that we still came there the next day to try to get another car, they wanted us to make a deposit of 800€ WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOBODY TO DO !! They will randomly take money from your account without a bill and nothing ! after all that we went to Europe car and everything was FINE

This company should be shut down. If you have had a issue or unethical treatment, I urge you to report this company to the ECC (European Consumer Centre).
This particular office hung up on me after yelling at me.
My sob story:
My husband and I went to Italy for an Italian road trip honeymoon. We picked the car up in Venice and planned to return the vehicle in Palermo at 6pm 9 days later per our rental agreement.
The evening before we were to return the car, I received a call saying that we had to either return the car at 1pm the next day or at a location an hour away because the Palermo downtown location would be closed. When I received the call, we were still in Pompeii in the middle of a tour (a little behind the road trip schedule but still had plenty of time to make the 6pm drop-off) and thus we could not make the 1pm time. The woman was extremely rude and told me I was uncooperative because I wanted either a discount for dropping the car off at a different location (we were taking a 9pm ferry across the street from the original location and this would add 3+ hours plus transportation expenses) or for her to figure out a way to drop the car off at the original location by the original time. Then, she hung up on me.
The next day, I spent 3+ hours trying to get ahold of customer service to find a amicable resolution. The Palermo DT location hung up on me after yelling at me. And, several times the customer service line reps seemingly hung up on my call before answering.
We did manage a discount of €60 for changing the location (they removed the second driver fee), but we felt that was not adequate for the hassle we had been put through. And, we ended up not being able to go up Mt. Etna because we were trying to get in touch with SBC.
After reading other reviews about extra charges that Sicily by Car adds for allegedly fake damage, I filmed the car at the drop off location so I could prove the car was intact. While doing this the Sicily by Car employee told me to stop filming him (I was filming the vehicle) and that I could go to jail for filming him. Then, in a threatening manner, he told me you Americans are "funny" people and that laws are different in Italy and I need to be careful or I'd end up in jail. I have this all recorded- not his person just the audio since all I wanted was proof the car was I damaged.
We will see if I get any bills in the mail.
Just run away from this place.

Reservation and car collection went well. The car was in good shape and the journey with it was fine. Unfortunately they took off another 20,98€ with an excuse that it was for insurance. The insurance however had been paid in advance already when the car was reserved online. Lots of small print on the contract - they get you to sign quickly - there wasnt a chance to get out of paying the axtra amount. Professional scammers - better off with one of the alternative international brand companies

We hired a car through this company, on our way back to the airport our vehicle broke down. We called the emergency breakdown which we had to wait 2.5 hours to arrive. We then had to wait another 25 minutes for a taxi, as the hire company insisted the breakdown vehicle took the car before allowing us to go to the airport. We got to the airport and missed our flight all because of the car breaking down. We had to get home that same day due to business commitments the following day so we had to book another flight. This cost us 1260 Euro!!!!!
I have emailed them several times about the cost of our flights getting back but have had no reply, we have called them several times but strangely we keep getting cut off. We are trying to claim through our travel insurance who just need written confirmation from Sicily by Car that our vehicle broke down.
I would not recommend this company to anyone.
