Il posto è bello e carino, ma il proprietario!!! Premetto che avevo fatto la prenotazione su booking un mese prima e che era compresa la prima colazione e il pagamento direttamente in struttura. Al nostro arrivo subito una piccola discussione perché il proprietario non era riuscito a incassare la quota dalla carta di credito in precedenza (ma nella prenotazione c'era scritto "paga direttamente in struttura all'arrivo"!!) Poi continuando sulla stessa filosofia si lamentava del prezzo a noi applicato che era troppo basso e non mi avrebbe dato la prima colazione (il prezzo non l'ho fatto io era esposto su booking, e non è vero che era troppo basso, era in linea con altre strutture della zona da me visionate). Al quel punto essendo io stanco per aver guidato tutto il giorno, non avevo voglia di litigare e gli ho detto che la mia colazione se la poteva mangiare lui!! Meglio spendere 2,20 euro al bar e fare colazione in santa pace! Per il ristorante non so, era il giorno di chiusura settimanale.

Stayed for one night to split a journey. We had a family room with one double and two single beds. Room was very clean and had all the extras expected. Manager was friendly. Ate in restaurant which was good. Didn't use the small swimming pool but it did look very inviting. Buffet breakfast was very good. I had the fresh figs and prickly pear, with a cappuccino. Quiet location but near enough to Polignano to be useful.

We booked this B&B online for a four-night stay based on their website - unfortunately, we didn't find any reviews online. We would definitely not stay here again.
The grounds and building are actually quite beautiful, located in the countryside (on a very rutty road) near Polignano a Mare, well-tended gardens and a somewhat less well-tended swimming pool. The double room we had was not enormous, but comfortable and modern. We had some difficulties with the plumbing - the first morning the toilet wouldn't flush (repaired later that day), the second morning the shower drain clogged (also repaired later that day). The owner of the complex was not particularly friendly - he spoke English, but seemed to be a man of few words. The restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price.
But now we come to the big problem - Il Casale dei Fornici exists primarily for catering receptions. In the four nights we were there they had three big parties. The kitchen is located directly under the hotel rooms - whenever the cook prepares veal cutlets the hammer blows resonate through the walls. And the kitchen personnel naturally goes outside for a smoke and a chat, immediately beneath the hotel rooms - and this at 1-2 AM.
On the last night of our stay we arrived back from dinner in town at around 9:30, and discovered to our horror that they were setting up for a party around the swimming pool (also immediately in front of the hotel rooms). We asked the employees, and found out that they were having a wedding reception. After much heated discussion, we made it clear that this was unacceptable to us ("It should be over by 2 AM" was their comment), and they called a neighboring B&B that had a room free, we left immediately. There were no words of regret, no offer of a rebate. (The alternate B&B, Le Vigne, was delightful and quiet, the best breakfast we had in Puglia!)
In short - if you're the sort who doesn't mind going to bed at 2 or 3 AM and doesn't mind noise, then you might be happy at Il Casale dei Fornici. If you're not that type - avoid this like the plague!
