This place is a gem in the old part of Genova away from the busy narrow shopping streets and harbor. Tasty food at a very attractive price point of 10 euro for the menu of a two course meal with a glass of wine.

The church of Santa Maria di Castello, first built in 658 hosts an interesting free museum. Simply visit the church and ask entry into the normally closed doors.
The church itself hosts many fresco's and paintings of great interest some which can be tracked back to 1451.
The church was also called the summer cathedral of Genova. Located quietly on the hill surrounded by the most ancient buildings of the city, which was first inhabited on this ground some 3000 years ago.
