Quite simply to anyone looking to car hire avoid this company! Booked online and then upon returning the vehicle and returning to the U.K was billed additional £350. All added on rubbish such as service charge? They lie to you and take your hard earned money. Avoid AVIS, I have a claim now against this company!

Arrived in the agence the two people at the reception were seeing pictures on Facebook and took their time before talking to us. I booked a car, where I arrived it was not there. They offered another one (ok). I asked if I needed to put gas before giving it back the guy said no, because it was the same price as in any other gas station. When I bring back I found out that it is about 40% more expensive than outside and you have to pay 15 euros for this service. He was clearly trying to take advantage because I was not from there.

Avis in malpensa are bringing rip-off at the art level.
The car booked on the web, was not available. Proposed me larger car with a significant supplement. I Refused. Got a smaller car. On return, avis tried to charge a supplement for car upgrade !!!
When got the car. Tank was not full. I filled up, when returning. Avis tried to charge 29euro for gas.
There are still 90 euros on my bill i cannot make sense for.
I will file a complain at avis customer service.

Rented a Ford C Max diesel, 6 speed. Fits 2 full size luggages and 2 carry ons perfectly. If you can, try to bundle your car rental with your Airline to save a bundle. We couldn't do it for this portion of our trip, but we rented a Peugeot 3008 in Paris for a week and only spent $353 (incl.tax and insurance).

Don't use Avis in Milan, Malpensa Airport. They rip you of big time by using upgrades and insurance as explanation. I made a booking in Sweden and when I arrived to pick up my car Avis (an arrogant woman with glases) told me that my booking was not correct. If I wanted a car I had to pay 600 euro extra för 6 days!!! A total rip of. After a long discussion she said sign or go. You can call our customer service after the rental. Back in Sweden I called and the confirmed that they have problem with Avis in Italy. But they did not do anything. Avis are a worldwide company that acts like theifs.
