If you are searching for a Starbucks don't go there: it's not your place! Infact it's an ancient Latteria, originally the shop hosted a butcher and this is why also today is visible the image of a cow on the marble counter. Here you can breath the past, as in many other corners of Florence and drink the real "caffèlatte", as the italian grandmums were used to prepare us when I was a child. Just to give you an idea of the atmosphere there, I'd say that the bar-shop is a little "shabby-chic". Here you can also taste home made cakes and scones. I agree it's not cheep, there is a surcharge for sitting at the table and to be served, but honestly I think that a take away coffee of Starbucks is definitelly more expensive than sit there and taste, see, breath something different with an ancient feeling. It's not for everyone!

Total RIP-OFF - dont' go there!
Went there with my girlfriend because the owner started to talk to us and seemed nice. Nice little old-school cafe with old furniture and hand-written menus.
In the end, she charged us 24 EUROS for a tea and 2 small pieces of bad cake.
When we contested that this was way over-priced, she started screaming at us, cursing in Italian and pointing.
Just don't go there. I can't even understand why the lonely planet is recommending this joint. It's not a good experience at all.
