I cannot recall the beginnings, but Caroline said that when I first visited Calcutta, this location was just a fruit stand. Regardless, it is now a good alternative to Blue Sky Cafe, which is just across the street. Moreover, it was remodeled a few years ago to let people go to the first floor.

Simply put, the food was neither Fresh nor Juicy. We ate lunch there, and it was a mistake. It was about the only restaurant in India that did not serve the food hot. My wife's chickpeas were not cooked through, and she didn't eat them. My korma was at room temperature, and it tasted OK, but I should not have eaten it -- the best hope for not getting sick in an Indian restaurant is to have the food served piping hot. Two days later I had some problems, but I cannot be sure this korma was the source, of course.
