Amazing place - a must see for all visitors to Amritsar. I was privileged to visit and donate to such a historically important place.

It is one of the must-visited places of Amritsar who is fond of Indian History, esp. Indian Independence. The museum has an immense collection of artifacts, diaries, letters etc. of the freedom fighters and depicts the horrors India went through during partition. One unique feature of this museum is that the old history is showcased in the form of models at some places.
The place requires at least 30-45 minutes to spend time here (can be more for history lovers). Photography is prohibited inside.
It is next to Ambedkar Chowk and entry fee is Rs 10 per person. Remember to take original ID proof during the visit.

Very interesting presentation of the events and struggles leading up to the formation of India and Pakistan and other countries in South Asia, including the perspectives and experiences of different castes. Definitely worth visiting for those who are interested in the events that shaped modern day India and Pakistan.
Renovations were ongoing as of September 2017, but looked like it would finish soon.
Must see! 250 rupees admission for foreigners.
