Nice hotel. 3.5 STARS actually. Clean rooms, small restaurant in lobby. Next to a famous halwai Kanha sweets.... Priced modestly. 15 minutes away from golden temple

Pathetic service. Basic amenities like water was not provided properly. No room service or house keeping. Towels weren't replaced and despite calling house keeping several times, they dont serve you.

Taste of food is good but the rate of serving food is nil u just wait wait and wait and still no one comes.

Avaas made a name for itself with it's prime location and a unique restaurant offering. Unfortunately those days are behind it and is now an aging palace of sorts.
My opinion here is based in a visit for dinner in September 2017 is a brief of the deteriorating state of the food. The food that came out of the kitchen was a catastrophe and not worthy of the pricetag that comes with it. The ingredients felt as if left unattended for some time and even though some of our items were remade in request without hiccups, it speaks volumes on the state of the chef.
The ambience was partly depressing possibly due to the absence of any guests, possibly since they all decided to eat somewhere else. The staff looked indifferent to our presence which is not such a bad thing if you think about it.
All in all a relatively depressing experience with half hearted food to complete the circle.
