Good background on the initial civilisation of the island and its creation, tours really kill the quiet though.

Always a good educational piece! If you've got 15mins you can walk to centre Fira and find this historic building with a load of findings from a dig site not so far from there.
Alot of what you will see is mainly pottery and the tools used, with some wall art from as early as 1800b.c.

Interesting museum. Would have expected more copies of wall paintings. Gift shop missing, but who cares?

This museum is excellent with really important findings. I would recommend getting a combined ticket and visiting also the ruins of the ancient city in Akrotiri.
