Good rooms, friendly staff, and a very nice pool/sauna area. The "fitness room" is extremely limited... several cardio machines, and a single "universal" style strength training machine... but no free weights. Breakfast is European-style, with a decent and fresh selection. Good bar with a great staff... Marsel will take care of you!

3 months ago I booked this hotel. I then rang from Spain the reception and explained that my wife is in wheelchair and cannot walk anymore. No problem sir I will reserve for you room for handicapped people. If needed also a wheelchair could be provided. We special came to Cottbus and this hotel to celebrate our birthdays and that of one of our best friend. Radisson hotels we know from earlier years but from different locations in Germany. This is the good news. Bad yeah very bad news is.
Very small room and bathroom ( sized 1.7x1.7 mtr. And shower corner with high step of 70cm square. I complained to deception and was told by mistake the special room for handicapped people had been given to another person's. Only ONE room like this in whole hotel. Then our celebration. BISTRO was a big laugh. Just some tables and food came from the kitchen. We ordered for 4 person's but meals came only for 3. Apology from waiter. College had given 4 order to other table. After 20 minutes still no meal and I tesred if my meal was still warm. Little warm yes but they have used all the salt available in the kitchen. Could really not eat it. Told waiter and answer was I MUST TELL HOW MUCH SALT I WANTED!!!!. SO I TOLD YOU CAN TAKE IT BACK. After again half hour waiter did ask unkindly if my wife , the forth party, still wants her food. The answer why not earlier was. We have been very busy.
Bottom line is.
They spoiled very much our nice planned bistro dinner on our birthdays. And as for the room. This hotel is not even good enough to name themselves a HOSTEL.

Never go there again and on checkout reception informed me sorry to hear. Manager is busy but please if you want sent him a e-mail.

The hotel is just opposite the main train station of Cottbus and thus about a kilometer or so from town center.
Reception staff always leave me with a pleasant impression, but the rooms regretfully don't. Rooms are spacious, offer good wifi and a good working environment and room rates are usually low. So far so good.
Regretfully those rooms feel dated and a lot of the fittings are being neglected by housekeeping. Last time I stayed the phone was physically damaged. Not that I wanted or needed to use it, but it makes you wonder, when easy to spot problems like this are not fixed. This time the shower head was spurting water from all sorts of unusual places. Again, not a problem, but the individual symptoms point to a root cause and that is "lack of care".
Last time I stayed the hotel would have gotten my thumbs up for cleanliness, this time I found long black hairs on the shower wall. These hairs were in such an obvious place that it made it very clear that the cleaning staff either didn't clean the shower or did a terrible job at it. While I am not squeamish about these things, I also feel that this hotel has a lot more potential and is let down by these easy to fix problems.
I'd appreciate tea/coffee facilities in the room, but I am likely asking too much here ;)
So would I recommend you stay there?

On the other hand, prices are very appropriate for the quality you get, so I'll come back
