The experience alone was well worth the cost. The food was also quite good.

It's the most novel dining experience I've ever had. The food was delicious, whatever it might have been. I would give it 5 stars, were it not for the astronomical pricing. I know it's in the nation's capitol, and requires some very special facilities and staff, but I think it could be more reasonably priced. The staff was as accommodating as can be, even funny. Plus, the management employs visually impaired wait staff, to raise awareness of that disability. I might go back again, but a student discount would be encouraging.

Sorry have to say this experience was poor. The staff were friendly and doing their best but the food was poor, cold and wasn't even varied. I seemed to get some cold meat with a basic salad, no idea what the main was as it was inedible and the desert was basically some ice cream with some frozen berries and a tiny piece of cake. The experience was awful to be honest and we had no choice over the surprise menu although the website suggested that we would discuss this with the chef. Complete gimmick, hideously overpriced and poor quality. Ruined an otherwise great weekend in Berlin which is a shame. Again the staff were pleasant enough but the chef should be shot!

Stumbled into this gem while exploring Berlin. Amazing little find with a fantastic brunch. There are slips of menus where you can customize your order and bring it up to the counter. Loved the cozy atmosphere complete with an awesome soundtrack (indie-rock leaning). I would totally be a regular here if I lived in Berlin!

First of all, it is true that the prices at Nocti Vagus are a little more than seems justified by the fare one gets; the food is perfectly decent, and the portions sensible, but they don't quite warrant the price tag assigned.
The experience of eating in utter and complete darkness, however, especially when paired with complete ignorance of what one is about to eat, is scintillating. My partner and I had been given vouchers for a surprise meal for Christmas, and relished the opportunity. Feeling our way over and through our plates with cutlery and our fingers, we did manage to guess a fair few (but by no means all!) of the things we had eaten, and the ingredients used. A fascinating testimony to how our sense of taste is influenced by our sight.
There was an evening programme, a short criminal play, which was amusing if perfectly foreseeable. I would not recommend taking non-German speakers along for such an event, however, since it proved impractical (and slightly irritating) to interpret everything.
This little interlude also proved a little interrupting to the meal experience, since no food or drinks are served during the 'play'.
Overall, I would call it an adventure – not a culinary one, maybe, but an adventure nonetheless. The two of us are unlikely to return, but would recommend it to anyone interested in the concept of temporary blindness and the experience of eating without seeing.
