The main staff member who served me was pleasant and she spoke to me in English to help the language barrier. The rest of the staff were practically ignoring me as I did not speak French, or at least know the words for asking for a table.
Beyond this, the expensive sirloin steak was grisly and tough and the chips overdone. The beer (Grimberger) was decent.

Tasty food and great variety. Food came out quickly too! Servers were a bit curt, but hey it's France so what do you expect!

This ended up being one of my favorite meals in Paris, although I say that with some shame because I think it was the least "French" meal I had while in France...and I love French food.
It turned out that a Yelp bookmark had led us pretty far astray right around lunch time one day, and we ended up picking Rubis out of convenience. One of the specials of the day was BBQ pork, and although I almost never eat barbecue in the States and pretty much never eat pork, I went for it, and loved it as well as its veggie sides. It was very well prepared, succulent, and very tasty. Perfectly done. My husband had a burger that he rather liked, too, although I don't think he raved about it like I did with their pork.
Sitting outside it was somewhat hard to get attention from the waitstaff, and some diners at a nearby table left without ever being seen. I was disappointed to be handed an English language menu - so certain was I that here, away from any major tourist attractions, it wouldn't happen! But that's just my own weirdness because I was enjoying an opportunity to use my admittedly broken French when I could; I'm sure many English speakers would find that a great comfort.
It was a great lunch place, and absolutely worth a bit of waiting.
