Myself and my wife stopped off in Nantes on our way to Rennes and Le Taverne was recommend to us by a shop owner.
Once we were greeted and brought to our seats this is where I and my wife found the service and food below par. We were given the menus, the staff member went off, normally popping back to ask about the order, they had their phone out and could not see us looking over trying to get attention, having to ask another staff member to get a waiter. We then got another waiter who was nice, took our order and did come back with the food and drinks.
The burgers we got on the menu were around €18 and I was expecting something nice for that price. The bun was over toasted and the cheddar cheese was melted, but a cheap cheese with a strange taste, the fries were ok but I was not happy. Since we are not native French speakers and only travelling through I didn't want to call the manager over (not that I could see many staff at the time), so we are a bit of it and left the rest, the bill totalled €47.50 which for two burgers and three cokes was pricey.
I feel good service is the big factor in a restaurant and I was not impressed that day at all, it wasn't that busy outside, and inside there where 5 tables occupied. I would not visit this place again, it's a shame as the location is very nice.
