Une très bonne adresse dans le Vieux-Lille pour tous les amateurs de cuisine flamande !
Les plats sont bons et copieux. Le personnel est sympathique et la décoration à l'ancienne très authentique.
Il vaut mieux penser à réserver car il y a souvent beaucoup de monde...

Très bon ! Mérite mieux que la note actuelle ! Serveuses agréables et serviables, un peu débordé mais elles charbonnent ! Bons plats typiques, choix restreint de bières mais de qualité ! Ambiance conviviale !

Nice place, nice service, warm environment and several tipical local dishes homemade.
We were with our 15 month baby and even if in a very small table we all enjoied.

I can't understand the poor reviews. I ate here Saturday 26 Nov 2011. The place was busy and I could only book a table for 22.00 - so we enjoyed other bars on Rue Du Gand, which was great fun (the locals we met were great fun and very friendly). The staff were very welcoming, service was friendly, attentive and done with a smile at all times. They politely helped me when I needed it with my French(!) and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was great value, well presented and every dish was very enjoyable - not haute cuisine, but very good, regional dishes: rabbit, duck, pot au feu, 'welsh' and some delicious l'escargots. Wines were very good and well priced (Cotes De Rhone was a great choice at 15 Euro). The restaurant is cosy and has a great ambiance, upstairs and downstairs At the end of the night, quite late, we were not rushed to leave - the staff came to talk to us about our visit to Lille and our meal. Overall, I loved La Vieille France and will definitely return next time in Lille. Rue du Gand is a lovely, busy restaurant-filled street with many choices so you can't really so wrong, but this place was perfect as far as we were concerned. Ignore the other reviews, give it a try and make up your own mind. Bon Appetit!
