Got to this restaurant thinking one can't go wrong with a chain restaurant like this, there should at least be a global consistency of quality etc.
We ordered the pan fried salmon with beranaise sauce and green salad and bbq beef short ribs with fries and 2 virgin mojitos.
The virgin mojitos arrived promptly, but was nothing more than perrier carbonated water, with some sugar syrup, slieces of lemon and some mint lives thrown in and served. I have had many virgin mojitos and my 11y old can make a better mojito!
The fries were double fried - thick shell and hardly any potato inside, it feels like you are chewing on rubber.
I asked for the manager, she asked for just the fries to be replaced - which she did and the fries were now fresh.
The salmon was dry - clearly taken out of the freezer and fried and served - it was cooked thoroughly but tasteless and dry - it must have been sitting in the freezer for a long time.
The salad was a plate of plain lettuce leaves with a french dressing!!
The bbq short ribs were supposed to have been slow cooked for 9 hours (it says on the menu) but mine was chewy, stringy and drowning in a sweet BBQ sauce - served as if it was a stewed beef rib. I took two bites and that was enough. I've had very well done BBQ short beef ribs and this felt like, it was taken out of a packet microwaved and served.
I spoke with the restaurant manager, and her response was "we do not specialise with salmon, and yes it was taken from the freezer but you're the first person to complain about it" !! When asked about the beef rib, she said "this is our speciality and everyone likes it like this and I am sorry, I will offer you a 10% discount on your bill"
I politely turned down her 10% offer...didn't eat any more of the food, paid the 40 Euros and left in search for a restaurant take takes pride in it's food and doesn't look for excuses or offer 10% discounts to compensate for poorly prepared food.
