Not exactly sure what all the hype is about. To me it seemed like just a regular house (albeit a fairly nice one 'for Addis') masquerading as a Bar & Grill. Granted the pineapple upside down cake and the brownies were extraordinary. But the bar had a very limited selection. And the service was practically non-existant. I actually had to go up and make my own drink! I thought they might kick me out for that, but none of the proprietors seemed to be paying any attention. Instead they were just drinking and mingling with the other guests. I took the opportunity to steal some forks. Will probably go back again though, if only to pick up some more cutlery.

Once, South Sudan house was an embassy fit for a new diplomatic age. Now, it is so much more.
The view from the porch is exquisite at dusk. Don't leave without sampling a bit of Ethiopian-American fushion teff banana bread, or the newest creation of an Iron Chef night.

The beers taste like nectar from the gods, the cocktails flow like angel falls, the apetizers melt in your mouth like liquid gold, and the food...tales will be written about the food.

Possibly the best food and drink in East Africa...
