Loved this place. It was quiet and otherworldly at first but got very busy. Some of the staff were not welcoming or friendly...the needed a kick up the ass to remind them that jobs can be given and taken.
The bakery cafe was fabulous. You go order your tea/coffee and pastries first, pay and they are brought to your table.
Lots of photos opportunities!!
Lots of plants, flowers and nice places to enjoy the wild flowers.

This is an amazing museum and well worth a visit. We spent just over three hours and only managed to see two thirds of it - there is so much to see. Being a child of the 1970s, it was absolutely fantastic to walk through my childhood and the 1970s section. Bring good, sensible shoes as you will mostly be walking on cobbles. Parking in the area can be difficult so you may want to use nearby Q-Park multi-storey or use public transport.

I actual used to work here as a guide and had a lot fun here. This museum is great and a must see if you are in the area. Beautiful old houses from all over the country were dismantled and restored on this location. Don't forget to check out the Living History!

I love this place. It's a real life living museum with so much to see. I have been here many times and always find something new. I particularly love the 70's exhibition because there is so much that even I can remember from my childhood. The new Aarhus exhibition is very interactive and a lot of fun, particularly for those with an interest in Aarhus. A great museum with something for all ages. 👍🏾

Wonderful open air museum; great recreation of a market town. There are many wonderful buildings to see. Most of the buildings were actually moved from various areas around the city to Den Gamble By, so you are experiencing the actual buildings of the past.
Den Gamble By was much larger than we expected. There was much to see and do; we spent most of the day here and we didn't quite see it all! If we are back in Aarhus, we will definitely come back and view the upcoming exhibits.
