Personnel very polite. Meals were good, nicely presented. Sorry, beds hard and rooms had that stale cigarette odor.

I really had higher expectations when arriving to Prague for the first time. However I got a bad experience in this hotel. I arrived one Saturday at night, about 11 pm, the receptionist was falling asleep and it was rude. After getting inside the room, I felt like the room was not cleaned for several days or weeks. I asked for change to another room as I'm allergic to dust and dust mites, and I was told that maybe on Sunday I can get a change. Sunday came and there was another guy who told me that the rooms were the same and there was no chance for a change, they could only change pillows and blankets. I spent all four days with the windows open so the room could be ventilated. Also the included electric kettle was dirty, looks like it was not cleaned since many days or weeks ago. The room service on the weekend was improvised as well, looks like the hotel pays for under-professional staff in the weekends. The room service was better on business days. The breakfast buffet was OK, maybe the only thing to save from all this experience. Also they helped me printing some documents for free, and to call a taxi for the airport, however the hotel lacks better ways to slide your luggage, as there are only stone stairs, so if you have a wheelchair or luggage with wheels, you need to resort to your bare arms to carry your stuff. It was a nice looking hotel from the front, but a terrible experience inside. It's not the looks what it matters, it's the experience and the ability to serve people in need.

This is the biggest hotel in Prague which is built in the Socialist Realism type of architecture. The receptionist gave us some fascinating details about it including the fact that it was intended to be a gift to Stalin, who unfortunately died in '53 before its completion in '54. The hotel is located pretty close to Charles Bridge. Rooms are spacious, royal interiors, red carpeted floors, many large conference rooms,etc. Check-in and check-out was very fast and parking in the lot of the hotel costs 20 euros a day which is maybe a little high. The staff were gracious and polite.

Love this hotel. Beautifully located in Prague 6, few steps away stands a big supermarket that runs till 22:00. Breakfast is truly energy-giving, the rooms are colorful and comfy. Only the attitude of the front desk can be better trained. I've encountered several times uncomfortable and even somewhat unfriendly receptionist with attitude that tells the hotel guests "I don't care about this booking error of yours, and I won't try to help you solve this".
I highly recommend this hotel to my friend and clients, but the hotel needs to start showing its effort on providing better quality and better attitude on service their guests.
