Croatia Trogir Travel Tourism Guide - Trogir is one of many coastal towns in the central region of Croatia's Adriatic shoreline. Unlike many of the other Croatian coastal and Island possessions whose history stemmed from tribal settlements, the first colonists were Greeks in the third century BC. The Greeks traveled from the Island of Vis, an Adriatic Island that is now part of Croatia, and made Trogir a major seaport, The Greek control lasted until the beginning of the Roman Empire's incursion into the the Northern Adriatic.
In the ninth century, well after the fall of the Roman Empire, Trogir and the other Dalmatian Coastal areas came under the control of the Croatians, and during this period Trogir paid tributes to the Croatian Kings. |

Serious art enthusiasts can enjoy concerts given by classical and chamber ensembles, exhibitions at the Modern Gallery, and theater plays staged within the old town core.
Guests who prefer entertainment events will be entertained by Croatian and international stars all summer long, while the all round merriment is provided by public festivals such as Fishermen’s Nights, when seafood specialties are available on the streets of the town, and the fiesta celebrating the Day of Trogir. /Text source: Croatian National Tourist Board/ |
