Shameless thieves. We had reserved a room in Hostal Lleras (Calle 8), and mistakenly went into Hotel Lleras (Carrera 39), only 1 block away. We said that we had reservations, and they looked up our names, couldn't find the reservation, but said it didn't matter. Coincidentally, the room charge was exactly the same as in the other place, which is why we weren't suspicious. They charged us in advance, and we only noticed something was wrong when we went to the room and saw that it was nothing like what we had reserved. We went back to the reception desk and showed our reservation. They said that that was the other hotel, and even admitted that it was a common mix-up, but refused to refund our money even though we already had paid for the other reservation and hadn't even unpacked. We called the police, and they were sympathetic, but said that there was nothing they could do, and that we should contest the charge with the bank. The hotel was empty, whereas the one we had booked was full, which gives you an idea of what a terrible place this one was, so bad that they have to rob tourists. STAY AWAY!!!
