Been here many times as it changes names and owners. Tonight was the accumulation of all the things that have been going wrong with this place over time. Staff were condisending had some ego complex. Doormen decided to talk down at us and initiate making fun of us for no reason. The server was to busy with her phone and the bartender, we sat for over 15 minutes and she never came by once. Only 4 other people in the place. Everyone there staff wise didn’t seem to care at all about the visitors.

Awesome hangout place. Love the atmosphere. It's very cozy and beautiful and awesome staff and service. Turns into late night party with the dance floor. Love the food. 100% recommend the Sticky Toffee Pudding. They have one of the best I have ever had.

We've been here numerous times when it was Hemingway. Service is usually good and food is typical good pub fare - never had an issue until our last visit. Came here for happy hour on a Sunday a couple weeks ago and ordered Calamari. It was the worst tasting calamari ever! I don't take making that comment lightly. It was like crunching on almonds, very hard and completely flavourless. Not sure if it was old and fried twice, or if the oil was old. Really couldn't tell, but it wasn't edible. I really hope that was a one off and they don't usually serve stale food.

Great service today. Sure sometimes they are super busy & you may have to wait but generally we get great service. Only recent concern was the amount of salt & pepper on the wings but that is now remedied. Still the best view in White Rock. To the complainers, obviously you haven't worked in a busy place with some hard to please customers. I have always found them to be great with getting you on the deck, especially with all the waiting list bypasses. Top marks on that one. Will be back for sure.
