The teacher training program was way more than learning about the poses and yoga breathing, I found that it was transformative and helping me to arrive at some answers to questions I've had for many years with regards to my own life, about my own purpose and I found the camaraderie and support in the program - aside to the great training - to be one that will make a big difference in my life from this point!

I could say WOW too!
Normally do not post my gripes but I am so thoroughly saddened by this experience with a yoga studio/school in Victoria, BC (Karma Yoga) that I need to share. Perhaps great marketing, that how we’ve gotten hooked, but really can’t say much almost speechless for the teacher training itself. Definitely seemed to be more about the money than anything else. low tolerance for diversity in thought or action, to the contrary, this program was extremely unprofessional, more like a scam than anything else, not just in the schedules (the training time consistently has been changed due to the teacher’s personal needs and his mood, throughout the training excessive breaks due to his caffeine needs purpose), but in the way that management deals with the students, ruling by bullying rather than kindness. Nothing yogic but opposite, about the behaviour of the teacher who runs the school, in fact we found him consistently rude, short tempered, and inappropriate verbally harassment towards female students, which created a terribly bad overall vibe, don’t even mention his yoga knowledge, his ignorance of yoga asana and philosophy frustrated and confused the students the whole time, mostly students are learning asana from more advanced students in the group. This is not the way to treat people if you want to create a positive experience. The teacher/owner has difficulty more likely impossibility to delivering his words. All talk and no walk. At the end of the day, customers paid a high price to attend this school, only to be treated poorly. Everyone in the program no doubt had tremendous stresses and exhausted throughout from beginning to the end and ongoing. Disappointing experience is not even a good enough description for this training program. Left us with a really sorrow taste. My last review was taken down (they’re extremely web/marketing conscious) but I’m rewording it as I do feel that it’s important to share my experience. If businesses are able to have all negative reviews removed, leaving only the glowing reviews in their place, then there isn’t much point to a site like this as it’s not a very accurate representation for prospective students. I hope that my edited review is allowed to remain.

Enrolling in this program was the worst experience of my life. Course material was poor, instructor was rude, hours were shortened. Chris Lloyd (aka Solace) doesn't even know how to do eagle pose. We had to have a discussion about which arm goes where. Will be reporting to the BBB as well. Do your research and if something doesn't make sense pay attention to that. Invest a little bit more and go somewhere else. Wish I had.

After doing my first yoga teacher training in the Bahamas, I felt ready to teach.
I did my second teacher training with Karma Yoga and all I can say is Wow!!! They really put a new spin on teaching. They took the conventional atmosphere and instantly made it this light-hearted, yet
homey feeling space.
It proved to be the perfect place for me to
give back to myself. It was a place where I've been able to comfortably open up, share laughter and work with others towards a common goal.

Even the philosophy discussions and presentations keep my full attention.
They have been upbeat, informative and inspiring. Most of all, each and every one of us was actively involved. Day by day I saw
positive changes within myself.

It's was a journey that everyone should personally experience and Karma Yoga is
certainly doing it right.

"My experience with Karma Yoga Teaching Training has been very uplifting and made me feel more confident to be able to teach yoga. I learned a lot about asanas and their benefits as well as the history of Yoga. The studio is very cozy and inviting, the vibe is very positive, fun and genuine and the location is central and accessible as are the prices. I feel very happy that I chose Karma Yoga for my teacher training and I can't wait to teach more in the future"
