Great atmosphere, the Halloween decorations were so good!

We lived in James Bay for four years and absolutely loved this place when we first moved to the neighbourhood - good food for a decent price, nice chill atmosphere and decent service. This place has gone downhill after multiple changes of ownership. I first noticed about a year and a half ago at quiz night, where I literally had to chase the server down to make an order. I finally ate about two hours after arriving. We continued to go and noticed other things, like meeting up with friends for a drink and the latecomers not even being acknowledged. We went again recently for old time's sake and I think it will be the last. The atmosphere has changed - not sure how, but it feels like it's trying to be something else. Food was bland, and not enough. I hate paying a for lunch (and not cheap) and then having to get more food right after. Service was bare minimum - on top of that she kept on messing up the orders on the tables around us (maybe write it down?) It's a shame.

Wow, the service was slow. We only came to have a beer, and it took forever to get the bill. While waiting to pay, a line developed to pay bills. We ended up leaving cash on the table so we wouldn't have to wait even longer. It was getting absurd.
Haven't tried the food recently enough to remember if it's any good.
They have trivial pursuit cards in the table, and the place seems like an interesting building. And there's so many people the all the time... Maybe it was just an "off day". But that's what we experienced.

I'm almost never impressed when I go here. The Veggie samosa was really good but inside feels unkept and underwhelming, and our chairs were really uncomfortable.

This is one of my favorite bars of all time. The patio is great and they have a good selection of craft beer and tasty pub food. It has a lot of character.
