Good ambience, service, food and portion sizes. The price is also reasonable for downtown. We had a yam tempura roll, veggie ramen and the avocado and tofu salad. You can tell the ramen broth is authentic, not like a Mr. Noodle's flavour pack like some places. My only complaint is that the tofu in the avocado and tofu salad is uncooked and flavourless.

Fantastic service...been going here for years because of the consistency. Authentic yet modern Japanese cuisine with enough west coast fusion to remind you of the fact that you are in Vancouver. Also, having lived in Japan I really appreciate the genuinely home-cooked meal options you might have found in a nineteenth century Inn that seamlessly mingle with the contemporary concoctions in the "special rolls" section.
