Please. Please do not go to this vet. He is the biggest scam artist out there. He doesn't care about the well being of any animal, he will lie to you and ensure he is taking every penny from your pocket. Do. No. Go. Here.

If there was a 0 star, I'd put it. The vet we saw seemed like he was more interested in getting the money and treated us like idiots instead of actually helping us. We've got a little budgie who has scissorbeak (as confirmed by MANY people) but the vet claimed he didn't. He talked to us like we were completely stupid and unaware on how to take care of our bird, despite the fact one of us has worked with animals professionally and handled birds on a daily basis. He bragged about how long he's worked with birds, and while bragging he took too much off our bird's beak, causing him to bleed. All we wanted was for someone to tell us how to help our little guy, as his beak got damaged from an accident and he wasn't eating properly. When we were asked what type of food our bird would/wouldn't eat, we told him and he kept talking over us. He didn't show/tell us how to feed our bird with a syringe properly at all. Instead, went on about the fruits/vegetables we should give him, despite the fact we've tried a lot of different types and the bird just won't eat them. He treated my friend like an absolute idiot for the entire visit. The receptionist had told us the price for the whole visit would be $40, but it ended up costing us $115. Just because the girl was new, he told us and I quote "don't tell her about her mistake because it'll hurt her feelings." She didn't even help us at the end. Instead, she walked around the store "working" and ignored us. There's also a fish tank in the office that's nowhere near taken care of properly. My friend know everything there is to know about fish, and she pointed out how a couple of the fish are actually enemies and should never be kept together. As well, there's a turtle in the tank which isn't properly taken care of at all. I'll never go back to this place again. They "didn't have time" to help a customer with a cat who was clearly extremely ill and needed to be checked ASAP. They just booked the cat an apppontment for 2 days later. I'm disgusted with the service.

I wish I could give 0 stars!

This is the absolute worst vet I have ever been to. If you care about your animals do not bring them here!!!!!

Yesterday I noticed my budgie was unable to eat. I called around and they quoted me $40 for a trim so I decided to bring my budgie in.

The vet was arrogant and rude. He did not listen to me at all regarding my birds health. He made the beak bleed while trimming it, and continually insisted the bird was fine. He straight up did not answer any questions I had as he was to busy bragging about how great he was.

At the end of the consultation he said it was not in fact the quoted $40, but it was $80 for the exam, plus $50 for the trim and taxes. Eventually he agreed to only charge for the exam.

Well today my bird is still not eating. When I called him this morning he continued insisting the bird was fine and just try feeding it different things. When I called him he said there was a complimentary follow up exam, then when I requested booking he said I would have to pay emergency night time rates because the only appointment was tonight. And his price for hospitalization kept changing, quoting 500 then 1000.

Well, my bird is starving and I don't think he is going to make it. I don't have money to take him to another vet. Thank you Dr. Kent Ackerman for killing my bird.

If you care about your animals at all DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!!!!!

I've been coming to this clinic for about 5 years for my dog. I first saw Ackerman then, and as others have pointed out - he is arrogant and irritating, and couldn't stop talking about what a great behaviourist he was to actually properly listen to me an inspect my dog. After a short look, he ruled we needed to do tons of tests (to the tune of $1300). The diagnosis: my dog has a sore leg, and keep him on leash walks - no running for 6 weeks.

There was another vet here, who has since left, who was lovely, so I stayed at the clinic. After he left, we see the vet so infrequently, I didn't bother looking for a new vet, I figured it wasn't that big a deal. But most recently, my appointment was with Ackerman. After waiting for half an hour (and I was the first appointment in the door!), there no apology or acknowledgement. He spent about 6 minutes with us. He gave us some medication (for my dog's allergic reaction), and my kid started wailing (she needed a nap). I let him know that i needed to get home - it was nap time. He released us and we waited at the front desk for about 10 minutes (while my kid was crying), so he could "write his notes" before cashing us out. So irritating. Not the end of the world, but whatever.

Finally we cash through - $170. For a spray (that was apparently only $40), and the vet fees (I suppose his rate is $15 a minute)?

I'm done with this place. It's too expensive, and they don't seem to care about your time.

We love Dr Hall, who is relatively new to the clinic. She's wonderful with our dog and knows her stuff. Pleasant experience for person and canine alike. Dr Hall is usually there Tuesdays n Thursdays, which, if I'm to be honest, is the only time I'll be booking. These stars are really for her, and for the awesome assistant working there now, whose name I promise to catch next time.
