MacKenzie the Bartender was accommodating and a lovely conversationalist. Perfect bartender. Great decor in the bar, as well. The copper utensils and other items were very pretty. Nice addition to Queen West.

Clean, smart, modern and friendly hotel. The rooms aren't large but they are perfectly formed and the hotels location is great for exploring the city. The bar on the roof is a brilliant place to go for an evening drink before heading out for dinner.

First off, the ratings and reviews for this "hotel" are a mix of restaurant reviews and hotel reviews which, is why the hotel seems to have such a decent rating when in fact nearly every rating about the actual hotel is extremely low. Traveller beware...

When I booked at The Beverley, I had hoped to have found a nice budget friendly hotel in a decent area of Toronto. What I found was a hotel that looked nice at face value, was a horrendous experience in the end. When I first entered my room I immediately noticed that there was no window, well, not no window but one that was facing a wall with only two inches between the window and a wall. Fine, I thought, I am only here to get a good nights rest, no reason that should matter much. The rest of the room was tiny, no closet, no where to store my bag or hang my clothes, and no other amenities to speak of. Again, fine, I was there for one night and all of that I can overlook. But when I went to sleep that night is when the real horrors began. The door to the room offered zero sound insulation so any movement outside of my room was as if my door was completely open. To add to that, the sound of doors closing in this hotel sounds like thunder and in combination of the the lack of door insulation resulted in the worst nights sleep I can remember in years. The fact that every review about the actual hotel says this same thing and there are not hotel provided earplugs at the very least says a great deal about whoever is running this establishment.

If you are booking a hotel and wanting to actually sleep at night and not be awoken every 30 minutes to the sound of banging doors I suggest you look elsewhere.

The only reason it has a star is because I had to click one to post..... Awful, just awful. We were treated so rudely at check in, I'm pretty sure it was because my husband and I (in our 30s) look quite young. We were asked to put a 250 cash deposit down (when the website says 100) plus had to pay 90 in parking for the weekend. When trying to go to our room twice we were stopped by staff and they demanded to know where we were going and then we had to show our room key to prove we were staying here. No other guests were asked to show theirs when going up to their rooms. The rooms were so tiny we had no where to put our luggage it was in the way the whole weekend. We come to Toronto every year for this event, this is the first time it was ruined by snobby rude hotel staff.

DO NOT STAY HERE if you look young.

This hotel is the best! Small rooms. Minimalist living. The rooms are just a great place to sleep and shower. Extremely clean rooms.
The staff here make you feel like family. Friendly, curtious, boisterous and lovable. They go above and beyond what is normally expected of them. I was delighted to be welcomed there.
Their restaurant is charming. And the food us outstanding. I'd go here just to eat and laugh.
Whatever the reason, I will be staying at the Beverly again. No doubt in my mind.
