A bit pricy but all was delicious. I was a surprised to see tofu for 13.00 , but the spices were addictive. Be prepared to pay for the quality of the menu. As it was great quality.

I lived in China for some time in my past. The dishes at this restaurant are very simular to what I found in coastal southern China. They have mapo tofu which is one of my favorite Taiwanese dishes.

Have eaten in many excellent Chinese restaurants, in Toronto, New York City and elsewhere, so have some variety of experience. John, the owner and master chef, is a chinese tasty food making machine! Excellent presentation, fresh , great variety, excellent portions, super service! Couldn't ask for anything better and while Nanaimo has other decent Chinese establishments, we don't bother going anywhere else! Try it, you'll be hooked ;)

Had a short visit before catching a plane. Menu had a lot of great looking items. Enjoyed a delicious spicy pork belly and cabbage, with shumai from dim sum menu and a very good omelette style egg foo yung.

Finding a Chinese restaurant is a very difficult experience. Oh, don't get me wrong, there are plenty to choose from in any city or small town. The difference, however, is the vast majority of those Chinese restaurants serve the same food that is greasy, bland, deep fried and not even close to authentic Chinese food.
Authentic Chinese food is full of colour and flavour. Authentic Chinese food is delicious. Da Tang serves authentic Chinese food!
Da Tang uses proper spices and techniques that delivers a meal exactly like those found in China. Personally, I have not been able to find any other restaurant in BC that makes proper, authentic, Chinese food like at Da Tang.
Get away from the stereotypical, westernized chow mein, eggrolls, and sweet and sour pork found on ever menu at every Chinese restaurant. Try something better! Try the menu at Da Tang!
