Went with work friends during Montréal Restaurant Week (Montréal a Table) and had a fab time! My beet salad, rack of lamb, cheesecake was all delicious. Had great service. The music was on the loud side so come if you’re interested in a lively atmosphere. The restaurant was at capacity so reservations are suggested.

A bit pricey for the food, but good service, atmosphere, and food,
Live music venue in upscale restaurant. We went around 9 pm in September and it was somewhat busy, but we were able to be seated right away. The waitress did a great job of keeping our water glasses filled and checking in with us. Our food orders did not take long. I ordered the seafood linguine and my wife ordered the spaghetti bolognese. Both dishes were good, but we expected better for the price.
Main courses are around $25 to $50 a plate. Expect to pay around $40 to $60 a person for a main course and a drink.
We recommend this place for a casual dinner date with light conversation. Do not expect to be able to have an in-depth conversation at the table.

Good food. Good jazz. Very slow/forgot about us twice for a total of 30+ minutes. Second visit they seated us outside and didn't come to even check in/say hi. Pity, lovely restaurant.

There are two parts to Modavie. A dimly lit, atmospheric side when you first walk in, and a modern, chic counterpart on the other side of the wall. The French onion soup was perfectly made, I also ordered the duck confit and wild mushroom risotto. The first dish came out and while the duck was perfect, the risotto was not cooked. The rice was still floury and crunchy. We explained ourselves and had it sent back with little fuss from our server and received a new plate - this one was cooked correctly. Great service and will definitely recommend and come back after our experience - though we will stay in the former part of the restaurant next time.

Great food very busy place. The place must've been understaffed because the wait staff was literally running down the stairs. Our waitress was serving nearly 15 people at the bar plus tables in the lounge. The wait staff still maintained a great attitude despite management not providing the right amount of support. Food was excellent. We enjoyed the live music played in the next room. Would definitely recommend
