If your in Kingston great hotel. Inexpensive great staff. Very helpful. Food is good. Your about a 5 to 10 minute drive downtown

Pretty solid for the price. Decor was super dated and smelled accordingly but otherwise not bad. My wife found the staff at the front less than personable but not rude at least. Again, the price was incredible at only 105 for a last minute 2 queen bed room.

This hotel is a time capsule. The common areas feel like you're in 1987. That being said, the customer service and amenities feel like they are from a another (better) time as well. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating at the front desk and the restaurant. They were a eager to accommodate my request for a late check out. The pool area has two hot tubs, a water slide and an aqua park for kids. The water slide is only open on weekends unfortunately. The rooms are more up to date than the common areas. They aren't special but they are functional, clean, and comfortable. The Ambassador is showing it's age, but everything and everyone there works hard and I had a very nice stay.
Edit September 2017: I have stayed at the Ambassador a few times since my review and I am happy to say that rooms are being renovated to very modern and comfortable standards. I was pleasantly surprised to see this.

It seems this once amazing place to stay has lost its pizzazz. The room air conditioning didn't work and it reached 82 degrees in the room. We spent 2 days and purchased a King whirlpool room. The room itself was fine, it was so hot we didn't use the whirlpool tub. It was very clean and the maid service was very thorough. But the fact that it was so hot because of the air not working seemed to cloud all of the good aspects of the hotel. We called and made the front desk aware of the situation, and nothing was done. I again told them at check out that it didn't work and no attempt to make amends or to right the situation was made. I doubt I will be going back. I'd rather spend more money on a nicer hotel downtown.

Parking lot was packed when we arrived. Quick and easy check in. Room was fair. Shower head was loose but it still worked. The shampoo and conditioner were amazing, love that they were from bath and body works! The bed was comfy. Room wasn't the cleanest, floor could have been vacuumed better. The indoor water park was great. Kids had a blast. I loved the steam room and really enjoyed the eucalyptus spray inside. Great touch! I was disappointed that the sauna was cold. I appreciated the complimentary late check out. Check out was quick and easy.
