The staff at the Kanata Animal Hospital are truly wonderful. Last night I had to do one of the hardest things any pet parent has to do and put my dog to sleep. The vet I saw, Dr.Ashdown, was amazing. She didn't force me into doing anything I didn't want to do. The receptionist and the two vet tech ladies were all very compassionate towards myself and my dog and you could truly tell they cared. Thank you all very much!

I'm moving to the area and was calling a couple different vets to get a feel for their prices and customer service. The receptionist who answered the phone was extremely rude and not helpful at all. If she acts this way with me how would they treat my dog when I'm not around. DEFINITELY not going to trust them with my fur baby!

Do not go there. Do not trust them. My 3 year old dachshund injured his back muscles. We were seen by young female vet. She told us that we need CT scan for and surgery for thousands of dollars or we should put him down . She saw our desperation so she offered us xrays for 300$. We never saw them . She brought book to us with the pictures of Dachshund's degenerative back disorder and attempted to convenience us that our dog is suffering from it. That he is paralyzed.
We went to another Vet Clinic and we found out that he was fine. He just need it to rest . Shame on you ! We were told to put little fellow down . My son broke into tears There was no empathy just playing on our emotions to get our money. I will never return there .

They helped me save my cat Boo.
They advised euthanasia since the chances were doubtful and they were honest about costs and chances of recovery.
I chose to try my own plan in consultation with the vet and my cat did survive... but I really appreciate that they did not take advantage of the situation and try to be pushy about the sales of expensive treatments that had little likelihood of success.
They were honest and compassionate. In my case I took a gamble on my cat who was already close to death and they helped me develop a very affordable treatment plan as a last ditch effort to save her. It worked for me, but it won't work for everyone.
I'd recommend this place for anyone with a sick animal they care about.
