Lovely location by the water with plenty of outdoor seating. Staff were fairly unaccommodating with our group size, insisting that groups of six or more had to sit inside as the tables aren't large enough. On the whole service was good, they have activities for children such as the duck hunt. Food is of an okay standard and they have a good selection of beers.
Fine for an informal evening out if you fancy a casual bite. Once you've eaten make sure you have a look have a look around Fisherman's cove, it's utterly charming!

We usually frequent Boondocks for a lobster roll at least once a year while visiting the area, but today will be the last time. It’s good location can’t make up for the poor service we received today. I understand that it’s a holiday Monday, and they may have been understaffed, but it took more than 20 minutes between the time we were seated for someone to come check on us to take our order, at which time they told us there were no more lobster rolls available - at 2 in the afternoon, not even well into the dinner hours. They should have told us that as they were seating us, as we would have left immediately. Most times if a restaurant is out of something, they customarily inform you at the time of seating, so you can select something else. Who knows how long we would have waited for the server to come back if we had decided to look at the menu again. Any food we’ve had in the past has been fine, if not a bit pricey which can be explained by it’s touristy location, but service has never been strong and today was the final straw for us.

You can tell when a restaurant doesn't have to try because of tourism. Service was definitely not the best. The food was good. Although the burger was missing the bacon and my daughter's meal was cold. And there view was very nice. But that being said. I wish I read the reviews first. I would have gone somewhere else. Who doesn't let a child use the bathroom?

Food was very delicious and server was very polite. Decor was a bit dated but did have a fun game for kids to keep them busy while we waited for our order. The order took 55 minutes from the time of placing it to the time it reached our table. I'm. It sure why's as 1/3 of the restaurant was occupied. If you have time and want to chill on a patio with a cold one then not a bad spot to come.

Very friendly service and great food at a fair price. One of our party ordered the Lemon Meringue pie for desert and said it was a close second to what his mother had made and was the best he has had since her last. Now that was good! We have been in Halifax this week but decided to visit Dartmouth for our last dinner and we're glad we did.
