Friendly, knowledgeable staff that truly care about the well being of the cats.

This clinic is by far the worst I have ever been to. They are way overpriced and way under the bar for caring and understanding. I took my cat there when he was ill turned out he had kidney failure. He was in their care for 5 days my cost was 3600 plus 600 for the ultrasound. The confusing part was when I had to transfer him to the after hours clinic for 2 days for around the clock care the bill from the after hours clinic was less for 2 days than charing cross clinic was for 2 and it was the same treatment but at that the after hours he had 24 hour care. Just a saline IV at charing Cross cost 180 dollars for one day. My boy made it threw the week with IV fluids. How this and blood tests ended up costing me 3600 dollars and that does not include the ultrasound is beyond me but at the time I was so emotional and scared and I was just doing and agreeing to any and everything to save my boy. I think they totally took advantage of that. I was never told what the treatment plan would be when he made it threw. He made it for 8 months after being on sub Q fluids everyday and a bunch of meds, some which were useless and not needed. At the end when he had stopped eating and I knew I had a hard decision to make I called the clinic to tell them that my cat had stopped eating and drinking and that I would most likely be bringing him in to end the suffering. The vet tech than informed me that his calcium was in and needed to be picked up and paid for. I said "Is this going to help him live?" She said no but it was specially ordered for him and couldn't be given to another animal. I did not ask for this med it was just another in the long list she said I needed. I could not believe I was on the phone falling apart and their only concern was getting the 78 dollars for calcium drops. When I finally took my boy in to cross the rainbow bridge Dr St Denis was not in and the vet covering for her was Dr Julie Neisen. I could not have been more grateful that it was her. I got more caring and compassion in that visit than my whole 8 months with Dr St Denis. Dr Neilson was amazing it's to bad she's not a regular vet there. To add insult to injury, Dr St Denis who cared for my cat for 8 months never ever called me to say sorry for my loss nor did any of the regular staff. When I walked out to pay for my bill after putting him down none of the staff there could muster up one compassionate word to say, nothing! They are cold and unfeeling there. Money first, pets and owners second.

I would definitely avoid this vet unless you have a lot of money. She will try to convince you to do extra tests that are not necessary. I felt that she used fear to try to persuade me to spend more money. There are many competent vets in Brantford who will take excellent care of your cat. I am so happy that I went elsewhere!!! If a vet quotes a very high price for a dental procedure, always get a second opinion. The first visit was over $300 and the second visit would have been $1700!

So I woke up this morning and discover an open wound on my cat's leg so I call to make an appointment and they fit me in in an hour.
I go to the appointment and they tell me it's going to cost between $1100 and $1300 to put a few stitches in his leg.
I say no way and they come back with a $400 estimate that won't even stitch him up. I tell them I have pain meds for him at home and can do the same thing so I just want to leave.
I pay for my visit ($100) and leave but the vet comes out to inform me that she's calling the humane society on me.
Wow. Nice customer service!
I left because I will go home and shop around for a better vet that is reasonably priced not because I want to see my cat in pain! I'm here and paying you to fix my cat.
It seemed to me like an extortion racket. Pay this huge bill or we will sick the animal cops on you!
I don't think so. I'll find a new vet!

Dr. Kelly St Denis is by far the best vet I have ever had my pets to. Her level of expertise, knowledge and sincere caring is truly incredible. Kelly is constantly educating herself with the most current advances in feline medicine, and because of this she has been able to offer a level of care to my cats that I know I would not have found elsewhere. I also greatly appreciate how incredibly thorough she is, and she will always take the time to explain ever aspect of what she is doing, what is needed and why. Plus, you can also tell just how much she truly adores her patients (the cats!) and truly cares about their owners. I just can't say enough.......Thank you Kelly for all you do.
