MUCHO CUIDADO!!! Me ha pasado lo mismo que a Tim Buktu hice reserva por la pagina hostelworld y cuando llego me dicen que esta todo lleno incluso me ofrecen la cama que esta en la terraza! No me devolvieron el dinero que ya esta cobrado en la tarjeta e incluso me amenazaron.
Muy mal servicio el gerente lucas nunca da la cara y por lo que leo es normal que en este lugar estafen a las personas. No vayan!

SCAM ALERT! Do Not book anything with this hostel. Still have not received a refund for overbooking. I'm not the first.
Looking at reviews seems this hostel is famous for confirming bookings then telling customers they are full after they arrive. What's up with that? Get it together Girassol!
Confirmed my reservation by email. Showed up next day and told they are full. This was for Friday - Sunday night during vacation high season).
Not sure why they didn't bother letting me know before I came across town with my bags. They don't seem busy nor full. Strange and unprofessional.
Was told by other area hostel worker they are a poor hostel with bad reputation. Staff apologized and blamed manager.
Was unable to find a private room when I tried searching last minute.

I booked 2 days before arriving in sp, and when I arrived the staff said that all of the rooms were full, it was really desapointing!

It's not the cleanest or the most spacious hostel, but that's not what they're focusing on. Girassol Hostel's greatest quality is its people. There's something about it. Perhaps the bohemian vibe or the very friendly manager, the hostel seems to attract a special breed of kind hearted, adventurous, great people to hang out with. Whether it's staff or guests, it's very unlikely that anyone you will meet at Girassol won't leave a good impression, or at least a humorous one. I definitely recommend this hostel if you won't be spending too much time in the room and want to meet some great people whether to party or go sight-seeing with.
