Returned car here from rental originating at Unidas GIG See my post on the Unidas location at Tom Jobim International (Galeao - GIG) for the rest of the story.
Personnel here were at least fairly agreeable. My biggest complaint is that the Unidas rental return is not part of the marked car rental return area at SDU (blue "Locadoras" signs, the first of which unnecessarily passes one through the congested Petrobras service station), and is essentially not marked at all (you only see the Unidas signs once you are in the return area, which is in the adjoining shopping center parking lot). I guess you mightsee them from the terminal approach, if you knew exactly where to look, but that's not the point of signs, is it?
Had to park car in airport parking lot, find the Unidas rental counter at the opposite end of the airport terminal, and be directed baqck to rental return, at the same end of the terminal where I started. Barely found the location, even with directions and the map they had at the rental counter (Movida rental car far better marked).
Car check-in was attended, but I had to get out of the car and walk up to an attendant to actually start the check-in (he didn't bother to walk to the car himself).
SDU airport is generally much improved over what it was in the 90's when I first traveled to Rio. However, the car rental experience with Unidas at both SDU and GIG remains stuck in the 3rd world 1990s.

Acho incrível as empresas de locadoras de veículos...quando viajo com minha esposa que tem cartão de crédito para outro Estado...são ótimos no atendimento..agora eu que não tenho cartão de crédito não posso alugar em outro Estado...mesmo me oferecendo pagar antecipado e com análise...sinceramente, não há boa vontade....e não tem crise para esse segmento....
