Nice room, very friendly personnel and great food.

I booked this hotel for a calm stay with my old mother. Since it is without any doubt a great hotel only from a few minutes' walk to the sea. So I'm going to be very critical and I'll compare this hotel with other 4* hotels in an international context. First of all the positive items: friendly staff, from the first contact to check-out. Free parking space in front of the hotel if you come by car. If you come by public transportation, it's easy to reach by direct train from Brussels-Midi to De Panne. At the railway station of De Panne, you can take the tram directly to "Esplanade", which is practically in front of the hotel. The rooms have been refreshed in 2015 (last ones in 2016) and are spacious, modern and with HD cable television. The bathroom we had, included a rain shower and was very spacious. On the negative side, we didn't have a terrace (only a window that opens, so you had to stay in the room). There is also no airconditioning. If the hotel did this for "environmental reasons", they should install mosquito windows. The rooms are also not "soundproof". There was a lot of noise coming from people talking in the hallway and manipulating their large room keys in the door locks. Perhaps they should have opted for an electronic door lock. Breakfast was quite good, although we personally missed the "cava" or sparkling wine, which can be found in most 4* hotels. The morning coffee was rather tasteless and not worthy for a 4* hotel. The hotel claims to be "dog friendly", but you cannot bring even a small dog into the restaurant (quite comprehensible, but according to their official rules, you cannot leave the dog alone in the room either). So.... either you need to dine out or break the rules (if you have a quiet dog, this shouldn't be much of a problem). In addition to that, they charge 10 Euros for the dog's stay. You can reserve three-course dinner (half-board) for a special price. Dinner was good and well presented. Their spa facilities are absolutely fabulous: great swimming pool, a couple of gym machines and a fantastic sauna (this last one is spacious, with a view....but not active / on, so useless). To conclude: was this hotel good: YES, without any doubt. Would I come back? I don't know. Perhaps I'll try some other hotels in the neigborhood first in order to be able to compare. I honestly think that it's the hotel with the most and greatest facilities, but they should work on the negative points in order to become the absolute best in class.

really great - I reccomend it 100%

they have a really interesting weekend arrangement I took. quality meals, free acces to their swiming pool, sauna, turkisch bath etc. Even though the weather wasn't up to scratch, there was enough to do inside.

There's a health spa - they have these really relaxing facial treatments with Pevonia products. I had one and will come back for more.
