Kinda' interesting mainly because of the different architectural styles used when they rebuilt the church. Would have been nice to climb up to the tower for the view but it was closed.

Alla fine della via principale (Hauptplatz) sorge la cattedrale dedicata a San Giacomo (Jakob), la cui originaria edificazione dovrebbe risalire al XII secolo. Lo stile attuale, frutto di rimaneggiamenti e restauri, spiega la commistione tra barocco e gotico, mentre la parte sterna è francamente più anonima che artisticamente rilevante.
L’interno custodisce alcune tombe, un bel pulpito gotico ed un pregevole soffitto lavorato a tela di ragno ed è famosa anche per essere stata (nel 1526) la prima chiesa protestante di tutta l’Austria..mentre oggi è cattolica.
All’esterno è possibile anche accedere al campanile (tariffa € 3) che, se interessati, vi permetterà di ammirare un bel panorama sulla città ed i dintorni.

Prachtige kerk, en bezoek ook de toren: mooi uitzicht over Villach. Wel 239 treden omhoog.

the historic 'heart' of villach's old town. you should climb up the stairs to the top of the church tower. the 360°-view over the city is well worth the effort.
