Frau Dr. Patel und ihr Team sind äußerst kompetent und umsichtig. Selten trifft man auf eine so schöne Praxis, in welcher der Tierpatient so fürsorglich behandelt wird und wo sich der dazugehörende Mensch so wohl fühlt! Besonders sympathisch finde ich die Praxiskatze Lany (mein spätes Beileid für Sir James)!

I am afraid that I cannot recommend this practice for a cat. I can't comment on Dr. Patel, but Dr. Tamoschus is frightened of cats. She handled my small frightened cat very roughly because she was scared of being bitten by him! She repeatedly sedated him over a period of more than two hours while working on other animals, and he came home with bleeding feet because she panicked cutting his nails. He was unable to stand or walk for several hours, and it took days before he began to fully recover from the trauma. I suspect Dr. Tamoschus is as capable as any recent graduate of the Vetmeduni. But she should not treat cats if she is scared of being bitten by a small cat. Her specialty is rabbits and she probably is an excellent vet for rabbits - just not cats.
Since Dr. Patel - who has never spoken to me in person or seen the cat - has chosen to respond, I will edit this review to include more detail. I was attempting to be understated in my original review, but she has invited further detail.
Dr. Tamoschus kept my cat under sedation for a prolonged period to make it more convenient to treat other animals at the same time. I counted four other animals that were treated during the time my cat was sedated. This had nothing to do with proper medical practice. It was a means of increasing the revenue of the practice!
The situation is made worse by the fact that the cat suffers from a liver disease. Dr. Tamoschus was fully aware of this, having seen his earlier blood work and scans. It is imperative to use sedation minimally with animals that have any liver insufficiency - the sedative is eliminated by the liver. Dr. Tamoschus nonetheless kept the cat sedated for two hours for no good medical reason. To put it bluntly, this is gross malpractice!
Further, Dr. Patel makes a number of unfounded allegations in her response. My cat has been to only one other veterinarian in Vienna in seven years here. I took him to Dr. Patel's practice because his usual vet was unavailable and he seemed quite ill. Her assertion that I was unhappy with a number of other veterinarians is simply a fabrication - as is much of the other detail in her response.
The cat in question is a tiny animal by Austrian standards and was terrified and passive when he was removed from his case. If you would like pictures of him or further details, please contact me through facebook cat owners of Vienna.
As to Dr. Patel's final claim, I will say only this. If you pay this practice with cash, make sure you get a receipt!

Der beste Tierarzt in Wien!! Ich habe das Gefühl, dass ich mit meinen beiden Katzenmädchen einzigartig gut aufgehoben bin... Frau Dr. Patel hat immer die beste Lösung parat und "stopft" meine Miezen nicht gleich mit Medikamenten voll - hier wird geschaut, wo die Ursache des Problems liegt und nicht versucht jede Krankheit mit einem Antibiotikum zu eliminieren..

Dr. Patel is everything the perfect vet should be: caring, thorough, patient, professional, friendly, and helpful in every way. She is always available for her human and animal clients, which is so reassuring, and her knowledge, experience, and kind manner always makes my dog and me feel completely comfortable and at ease. I also like that she has a holistic approach and uses alternative as well as traditional treatment methods.
The praxis is clean, cheerful, and very welcoming. And I am especially grateful that she speaks English! You and your pet will be in good hands with Dr. Patel and her team and I can highly and happily recommend them.

Before leaving Vienna after 8 years, I would like to say that my dog an me always felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Patel and her team. Not only the quality of her work but her friendlyness and the atmosphere in her wonderful practice made us feel at ease right away. Being able to communicate in English also helped a lot.
