哈尔施塔特中心广场附近的世界文化遗产博物馆也许是世界上最小的博物馆，但这里展示的文物古迹却是十分珍贵的。这里有当地近7000年历史的各个时代的文物遗迹，包括从原来的盐矿挖掘出的衣服及采盐工具、铁器时代的生活用具以及最早的蒸汽船模型等。
