The Dlux hostel is a mess, where cockroaches are everywhere, the kitchen is a big dump, every pan is dirty when you want to use it. Reception refused to give me my key deposit (20$) back after I gave them my key card. When I asked for it, the girl just laughed at me.
Save your money for a better hostel, for example the Funkhouse which is just across the street and is at least clean and they don't scam you.

Worst hostel i´ve been in Australia.
Kitchen is just disgusting (not cleaned in 10 days) and cockroaches in the bedroom.

Only good thing about this hostel was the location and the roof top terrace is half decent. The rooms are very small, untidy and smell. The bathroom is no pleasant experience either. Mattresses were ripped, the linen provided seemed unwashed and the carpet in rooms was unclean. If you are someone who is planning to drink alot and are just looking for a place to pass out in, i would recommend it. If your someone who wants to get a good night sleep after a big night, STAY AWAY

I stayed here a week and it was just terrible. One morning I was naked in bed and a staff member came in and asked to clean the bathroom. I told him I had no clothes on but still he insisted. There were "do not" notices everywhere including not being allowed to even leave soap next to the sink in my private bathroom. The kitchen closed at 10pm, no tea after that! The lift often was out of order, including check out day. My poor boyfriend had to lug suitcases and bags alone as I had injured my back. The air con was broken and despite promises was never fixed. They insisted cash payments for some fees, after a 9 hour flight it was such a hassle running to ATM when all we wanted to do was sleep. I have stayed in better places for less money and would recommend other places if you are an adult. I felt like I was treated like a child. I was also rudely insulted by 7 guys for asking to get past on the stairs. Something I had not experienced once in the previous 9 months I had spent in Sydney. Never again. I would rather sleep on a park bench.
