Mostly good food let down by terrible service.
After being seated and getting drinks served quickly, it took a full 45 minutes before we were able to place our food order (and that only after literally having to stand up and find someone).
The bread rolls (while delicious) arrived after we'd been sitting for over an hour. The dirty plates from those rolls weren't removed until after our dessert course.
Our water glasses were never refilled, despite being empty most of the evening. Similarly, we were never offered any more drinks until long after we'd finished our wine and were waiting to order dessert.
We had no cutlery by the time our mains arrived (and had to ask someone for cutlery).
The bathrooms were disgusting (though they are shared facilities with the hotel). The floors were wet and tissue paper strewn all over. Does nobody clean the bathrooms?
For an expensive restaurant i expect a high standard of service, and Zebu did not come anywhere close.
I'll certainly never be back, purely due to the service. This is a little sad, as the food was generally good (with the exception of the chocolate fondant, which was both tiny and also fully cooked through with no runny centre).

TL;DR - Okay food with a side order of atrocious service.
Arriving just before 19:00 the restaurant was quiet and we were quickly seated. Drinks orders were taken and arrived quick enough.
But then we were left waiting and waiting and waiting… Our original waitress had abandoned us and after 45 minutes (with drinks getting dangerously low) of attempting to politely flag someone down we had to stand up and ask to be served.
Once we were able to place an order the food did arrive at a decent pace but it really wasn’t worth the wait. My steak was overdone and my partners chocolate fondant was a solid chocolate brownie.
For these prices, you’d think Zebu could hire decent staff. An attempt at complaining got us fobbed off with an excuse of “it’s busy”. They just don’t care and you’re doing them a favour by going there.
I’d steer well clear of this place unless you’ve a lot of time to waste.

Poor service, unfriendly wait staff and expensive prices for the food quality

Has promise, with not that many selections of sophisticated venues in Port Macquarie, this Zebu bar gets close.
Maybe opt not for the low set lounge chairs, kinda dissapointing for comfort.
With out lasting too long here, it seems like somebody is trying to create atmosphere.
Speakers will need a little rethinking as the cone directions shoot acute frequencies vertical at select tables, rather than horizontal across the punters.
With not much around Port, I guess Zebu will see me again.
