I am one of the many artists who feels scammed by this dealer. I was very excited to be apart of their 6x6 show last year. In the contract I was supposed to get my work back many months ago. It has not been returned to me, I wish I would have listened to my friend who had warned me that they didn't return her art from years ago. This guy s very shady and greedy that he thinks his priorities are above the artist's who put their time and effort into their work. They are closed now but I will remember the name of this dealer and will continue to advise people to stay away from dealing with him in the future.

Leigh Cornish (owner of Auguste Clown) has ripped me off as well. Never paid for a sold piece & never sent back another. Pretty much same situation he's established with other artists... he seems great til it's time to pay then you will never hear from him again. Certainly avoid this guy & any business dealings with him if you're an artist & please do the same if you're a collector. He's essentially selling stolen art.

I honestly can't help but wonder how people like Leigh actually sleep at night or can look at themselves in the mirror. Absolutely no honor or conscience lurking anywhere in this man. Busy lining his pockets at the expense of talented artists. Coming up with fantastic inaccurate and flat out false responses as to why, after years, the artists are not paid, their work has not been returned, and their names slandered because they dare to speak up against Leigh and the gallery. Shame on you. Seriously, shame on you. I will never, ever recommend you or your gallery to anyone for any reason. I will however forewarn all artists and art lovers to avoid you and your gallery. Everyone should beware! Read complaints online. Read his responses.

An artist I follow had an incredible piece on display during her April solo. I had missed out on some of her earlier pieces and wasn't going to make the same mistake twice.
I called the gallery and spoke to the lovely assistant there. She answered all my questions (I was purchasing the piece internationally) and was friendly and easy to talk to (I asked a lot of questions).
I paid for the painting over the phone, and it was shipped to me at the end of the exhibition. It was expertly packed, and arrived in perfect condition. I'm ecstatic to have this stunning art in my home.
I’m yet to be able to set visit this gallery in person yet they gave me one of the best art buying experiences ever. The process was so smooth that I have their website bookmarked and will look to them in the future when I have an itch for more art.

I am an artist and I have participated in several exhibitions at Auguste Clown Gallery and had a positive experience. The gallery curators were very professional and easy to deal with. My paintings both sold and I was delighted that my artwork went to homes in Melbourne. Having shown my art with many galleries across Europe, I must say this gallery was one of the easier to work with. If you love art and want to support artists, buy from this gallery.
