Bounded by Swanston and Elizabeth Streets, Bourke Street Mall is, if not one of, the liveliest places in Melbourne. With Melbourne's two main department stores, Myer and David Jones, it's certainly the retail heart of Melbourne and is where every fashionista seems to head for. It also includes the stunningly refurbished Melbourne GPO which is now home to the first Australian outlet for the Swedish high-street fashion chain H&M. There's also a Melbourne Visitor Information booth in the centre of the Mall where you can get help, maps and local information. The Mall is also famous for its buskers and street performers. Sitting on the steps outside the GPO is a hot spot to watch the best of these with the raised steps of the GPO giving you the feeling that you're in a theatre.

A great mall that has a variety of shops, but what really made this place stand out were the Musicians and the street art that were going on while we were there. Great music and interesting art... A sight better than our Brisbane mall back home.

Lots of stores to choose from. Look out for niche shops and cafes in the alleys. Classic and modern mixed in altogether. Heaps of street performers to keep the place lively too

My favourite spot in the City. Always live music and fantastic shopping options. Good food and coffee too. Love it

My favorite part of the Melbourne CBD. You will find retails like Myers, David Jones, Zara among others. Although it's very busy, there's always music around. If you need to rest, you can have a seat on the steps at entrance of H&M. Enjoy!
