The Victoria Museum is of a very high quality. Certainly worth a visit, but set aside at least two hours.

Awesome day visit to the museum, fantastic museum displays with some interactive displays but please read the signs to determine which are and are NOT interactive. The adjoining science activities area is 100% interactive and an absolute must visit. Lastly, the planetarium is fantastic and very informative. A must visit venue.

Was impressive....well worth the time to visit ....unfortunately we didn't allow enough time as did not realise the museum closed at 4pm. The use of the old railway workshops to house the museum was a fantastic choice and the best possible rebirth for the city's historical buildings....the displays we saw were immaculately and interestingly presented. 5 out of 5 stars!!

This is a cleverly curated museum. The exhibits are spaced individually and contain the written and visual information necessary to inform but not overwhelm with superfluous detail. The kids area is fun, learning and entertaining. A great planetarium, exhibits on key Tasmanian flora and fauna done to intrigue rather than gather dust. The Sydney story was fascinating and an excellent example of the quality of its curator(s).
