I have just left Hobart Skintech rather astounded by the unpleasantness of the woman making appointments there! I made an appointment, and paid the $20 deposit, which I understand is there to make sure that people respect the business's time and don't cancel at the last minute, which is inconsiderate. But I also assumed this meant that Skintech would be equally respectful of my time. Nearly 20 minutes after my appointment time, I was still waiting, and this was going to mean I would be late for my next appointment. So I respectfully asked if I could make a new appointment for a another day, and apply the deposit to the new time. The woman said I could make a new appointment, but would forfeit the deposit. When I pushed, she said she would return my deposit, but that I could never make another appointment, ever. Astonishing customer service, to say the least!

Had a great eyebrow appointment but then because of a car crash on the way to another appointment two days later (totally unforeseen circumstances causing me to be 7 minutes late) I lost my appointment and deposit. The lady (I think owner) was not at all helpful. It's a shame I had such a great eyebrow experience and both my friend and I were going to make our monthly appointments with them which we won't now so I guess they are now loosing 2 customers.

Amazing service , the store itself is immaculate. The products for skin care are so amazing I recommend to anyone who wants really good skin care and an excellent service. 10/10 recommend to everyone. Will have to bring my mum!

Don't EVER go there!!

This salon has a really high staff turnover, they charge top dollar but the quality isn't there, and the beauty therapists will spend the entire appointment trying to sell you things - even if you make it abundantly clear that you're not interested.

I went for a Brazilian at Skintech and the girl tried to sell me a foot exfoliant for my vagina! This was after I had very clearly told her that I own tons of exfoliant and never get ingrown hairs. A FOOT exfoliant!! I had to spend the entire appointment arguing with her (which was rather uncomfortable considering I was spreadeagled at the time) and then when I went to pay for the treatment she still put the exfoliant up on the counter and tried to force me to buy it!

I used to go to Skintech regularly for gel nail treatments, but the product that they use is a cheap brand which completely destroys your nails after a few applications. They have to use a drill to get the things off again, which is a little bit painful, but more to the point, I found that my nail beds had become bloody and ultra-sensitive after about three months' use. I have never had this problem with Biosculpture gels, which I use all the time!

Last but not least, this salon requires a deposit before you can even make an appointment with them. They claim that you can leave it on your account, but I left $50 with them for about a year, and every time I called to make a new appointment I had to spend five minutes convincing the receptionist that I had already paid a deposit!

I called today to cancel an appointment because my four-year-old has been unwell but the salon has been closed for four days over Easter so I COULDN'T provide 24 hours' notice, and the lady told me she was keeping the $50 and that I would have to pay another $50 to reschedule! I am NEVER going there again!
