This place is awesome! and it's name has changed back to the Daniel O'Connell Irish Pub

Love the atmosphere here - especially on a cold night in front of the fire! Good hearty food and friendly staff

Food is good, but can be inconsistent. I usually get the onion rings here. Sometimes, it can be the best thing ever, but during busy times, I regret getting them.

10/07/2016 - The Dan has changed hands since my review below and the food style has gone back to more traditional pub based food. At the moment I haven't eaten under the new management so can not pass comment but my previous review is now not relevant to the current establishment.

04/2014 - Have recently had both lunch in the front bar and dinner in the restaurant. Food and service were both excellent. The variations on standard menu staples for a pub are done very well and it is obvious the chefs are taking great pride in being able to prepare some quality food. I had dined at Dan's before the change but I respect the fact that times change and this market is a highly competitive one and occasionally places need to reinvent themselves to remain. I for one am very happy with what they are delivering and hope they continue to excel at this level. I will definitely be coming back. The new Ploughman's platter is brilliant and delivery of this quality at a $15 price point is a serious achievement in today's market. Great work! My one hope with the revitalization that is going on is that they invest in the open air area out the back. Place a large fire place, change the lighting a bit and there'll be a fantastic winter hangout to wile away the time in. If you get a chance, give the O'Connell a try,you may just be surprised.
